Take a look at your nose, and you’ll notice that you can still see what’s in front of you. Try looking straight ahead, and you’ll notice that you can still see the nose but with less detail. The difference between the two views is that the nose looks bigger in the former view.
This analogy was first shared to my class a while back. A teacher was explaining how problems seem bigger than they are when we pay too much attention. She was motivating us to always look at the bigger picture whenever we face challenges so as to avoid making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Be it social media, work, family, social life or even a hobby, it seems as though we tend to nurture the things we pay attention to regardless of what they are.
When you focus on you, you grow. When you focus on shit, shit grows.
