The struggle to speak fluent English

We all have embarrassing moments when spoken English doesn’t match the grammar in our thinking brains. Below are two examples:

A lady was staying in a hotel. She wanted to order a sandwich through room service. “Hi, my name is Sandra and I’d like to order a sandwich,” she rehearsed. She called the reception and said, “hi, am a sandwich.”

Story 1

‘The good witch’ is a series in which Nick, the son of a medical doctor, meets a new crush at a stable. He it at the stable because his dad will be doing his second marriage from there. He says, “Hi, am getting married…I mean my dad is getting married”

Story 2

Such moments happen while we are nervous or feeling unsure of ourselves. We all do this once in a while. But it’s part of improving our communication style, isn’t it?
