Why Efforts Alone Aren’t Enough for Success in the World

There is a time I wrote an essay on a topic am really passionate about. The mark I got did not match the efforts I made. Further, the mark did not reflect the passion with which I had written about the topic. As expected, I was not happy with my results.

In such instances, it is common for the inexperienced to believe that they have been misunderstood. A typical student will rush to blame the teacher. They will believe that they are victims of a misunderstanding. Yet a good student shall take this as a learning moment. And when they do so, the good student realizes that the ‘best efforts’ actually did not match the teacher’s expectations.

I learned a lesson from this experience: You don’t win when you put your best efforts in a project. Rather, you start winning when your best efforts match with what the world needs. And this is what we need to strive for.

Lead your life to reach your goals; live deliberately.
